Apple game in the App Store, the first in over ten years and until now we didn’t know anything about it.

During this weekend Tim Cook has made act of presence in the annual meeting of Berkshire Hathaway. For those of you who are not aware, Berkshire Hathaway is one of Apple’s largest shareholders today. There is a great relationship between the two companies, so much so that they have even dedicated a game to each other. The only Apple game in the Apple Store, although not the first.

During the Berkshire Hathaway meeting, a short film was shown in which Warren Buffett visited a secret Apple laboratory where Apple created new devices. Among those devices was a time machine with which Warren Buffett traveled to the past to buy Apple shares, even more so.

What’s all this about? There is an interesting relationship, Warren Buffett worked as a child carrying newspapers and for years he was holding a newspaper launch competition at Berkshire Hathaway’s annual meetings. In the secret lab of the short film Tim Cook suggests creating a newspaper launch game. Well, that game exists in reality.

Warren Buffett’s Paper Wizard

Warren Buffett’s Paper Wizard is the name of the game, and we can download it for free from the App Store. It’s simple but entertaining, based on throwing newspapers to different houses as we move through the streets. Difficulties also arise as a bird that can steal the newspaper or houses further and further away.

If you look at the App Store, the game doesn’t appear in Apple’s name as the developer, but Wildlife Design, Inc. However, if you go to the developer’s page you’ll see that Apple is the copyright holder of the app. That is to say, the most probable thing is that they have made the app for Berkshire Hathaway/Warren Buffett although with a different name since it is not thought for the majority of Apple users. It would be quite out of context to see this game between apps like iMovie, Pages, Clips or similar.

As a curiosity, this is the second game published by Apple in the App Store. I only had one before this, it was Texas Hold’em, a game released with the release of the App Store to show what the iPhone was capable of in 2008. That game was eliminated in 2011 and since then we haven’t seen any more games developed by Apple. Apart from this new one, of course.
